Teaching how modes work can be frustrating for both you and your student. You explain it in a very logical way, yet some students still don’t get it. You describe how modes work in a second way, but some students seem more confused than before.. sound familiar? No matter what approach teaching method you use to explain how the modes work, students tend to understand the concept much better when they see a visual image of how each mode ‘overlaps’ the mode before and after it on the fingerboard. Try this and watch a lot of your guitar students’ confusion melt away.
