Guitar Teaching Tip
You already know that the more your students practice (and the more effective that practicing is), the faster they will become better guitar players (which is great for them AND great for YOUR REPUTATION as a guitar teacher!) Yet, most guitar teachers spend 99% (or even 100%) of their time with students, ‘teaching’ and very little (or no) time is being invested on guitar practice issues (motivation to practice, creating a detailed practice schedule, documenting and reviewing how much guitar practice is being done, what kind of practicing, practicing habits, goals, etc.)
Invest some time each lesson on practice related issues. Be specific about what, how, when, where and why you want your students to practice. I also suggest using an 8-day guitar practice routine. If you want help in designing customized and detailed practice schedules check out this cool practice schedule tool.
