Learn The Key To Improving Guitar Phrasing

True mastery of guitar phrasing is displayed when you are able to get a huge amount of drama and emotion out of only a SINGLE pitch on the guitar. Many guitarists attempt to mask their inability to do this by constantly cramming in more notes than necessary into their guitar solos. Fact is, your audience will be much more impressed when you can play one note and make it sound AMAZING than if you can play one thousand notes that don't express anything meaningful.

The important thing for improving guitar phrasing is not necessarily to use less notes, but rather to apply a variety of ornamentation nuances to get the most expression out of each note in your guitar solo. The drama and expression in your guitar solos comes not from the ‘notes’ you play on guitar, but rather from ‘how’ you play those notes. Check out this lead guitar tips video to see exactly how to use this idea to improve your guitar phrasing.
