Most
guitar players are familiar with the basic open and barre chords. Often they
will use these chords exclusively when they want to play nice chord progressions. The problem with this is that
these chords can only take you so far before they start sounding boring and repetitive. The way to fix this problem
is to learn ways to play
creative
guitar chords.
One
way to do this is to treat each individual note in a chord as its own melody.
This is much different from treating chords like a big movable chunk of notes
(which is how most guitarists treat chords). By using this
approach, you can even use the EXACT same notes from any basic open chord, move
them around a bit, and get a totally different (more interesting) result! Watch
