Playing
shred guitar at a high level requires many things. As a guitar player you need
to be able to use the smallest amount of pressure possible to get the notes to sound in your fretting hand. Your picking hand, although
it too needs to
conserve as much motion as possible, must also be able to pick with great force when
needed. Once you can
effectively integrate these ideas into your overall shred guitar technique, you
will start to see much faster progress.
There
are many mistakes you can make when learning
how
to play guitar fast. One of the most common bad habits
of guitar players is always leaving
their index finger (in the fretting hand)
down while playing
single string licks. This limiting approach will not help your play guitar
fast..in fact, it will actually
slow you down. Watch this video on how to play shred
guitar where I show
one of my students how to correctly approach this situation.
