One of the reasons why you might struggle with getting
your hands to do what you want to do on the guitar is because (like most guitar
players) you probably
do not focus on thinking about
the notes you will play
(in your head) before you actually play them (with your hands). This may sound
silly at first, but think about it. How often do you pick up the guitar and
really focus on every movement you are making in your hands before you play a
single note? This means thinking of how much power you are using to pick, how much pressure you are using
to fret a note, what notes you will play, how the notes will sound, and so
forth.
Why
should you practice guitar
like this you may ask?
Once you get in the habit of coordinating your actions in your mind first, you
will then be able to play guitar much more accurately. You
will then start to see a big increase in your overall guitar playing skills, as
well as the rate at which you learn new ideas for guitar. Watch this video
about guitar coordination to learn how to greatly improve
your guitar playing skills.
